💡 Philanthropy Friday: Nonprofit Valentines

Welcome to #PhilanthropyFriday!

This series represents a twice monthly conversation about philanthropy happening in the wild. This is a space to play, learn, celebrate, and peer into a small window of how you can support cool work happening in your community.

Today’s Topic: Nonprofit Valentines

Roses are red,
Fundraising is neat,
So I made some Valentines—
They're awkward and sweet.

They’re full of bad jokes,
And puns that are grand,
Because nothing says “thank you”
Like humor on brand.

So follow along,
For laughter and cheer,
Because nonprofit love
Deserves hype every year!

Several years ago our friends over at The Chronicle of Philanthropy asked their followers to come up with a new series of Valentines written in the language of nonprofits. Who could resist a call like that? The results were truly phenomenal from references to classic love stories to some very cringe-worthy romantic poems to donors. The tradition has long continued with new love notes popping up every year. I’ve always enjoyed this day and seeing how nonprofit professionals contribute to the cheesy fun and get to enjoy a bit of light and levity.

You can check out mine and many other’s contributions on Instagram and Facebook with the hashtag #npvalentine. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
